Potassium Carbonate Anhydrous 99%: Potassium carbonate is a white, crystalline salt that is highly soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol. When dissolved in water, it forms a strongly alkaline solution due to the release of hydroxide ions.

ACS Conformity: Our Potassium Carbonate Anhydrous 99% meets the minimum purity standards set by the ACS (American Chemical Society).

Shipped from Manchester, UK Facility: Our Potassium Carbonate Anhydrous 99% is sourced and packaged using non-toxic, chemical-resistant containers, ensuring reliable quality for our customers.

Frequent Uses

Acid-Base Titration

It can also be used as a titrant in acid-base titrations, helping to determine the concentration of acidic solutions by neutralising them.

Desiccant

Sometimes used as a desiccant (drying agent) in laboratory settings to absorb water from air or other substances. It can help maintain dry conditions for sensitive reactions or experiments.

Preparation of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH):

Often used in the laboratory to produce potassium hydroxide, which is a stronger base than potassium carbonate. By reacting potassium carbonate with a suitable hydroxide or oxide, potassium hydroxide can be produced for use in various other reactions.

Production of Potassium Salts

Potassium carbonate is used in the preparation of potassium salts in chemical reactions, particularly where other potassium compounds like potassium hydroxide might not be ideal due to their highly caustic nature.
