Meet Louise - Head of Finance

Louise brings over 30 years of experience in finance and accounting, with a strong background in financial management, communication and business administration. Starting her career as an Accounts Assistant, she built her experience across a variety of finance roles before progressing to Head of Finance at Atom Scientific.

Alongside her extensive industry experience, she has continued to develop her skills throughout her career, including successfully completing her AAT qualification. She also brings strong experience using Sage and is self-taught in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Louise is the go-to for all things spreadsheets!

Can you tell us about your role at Atom Scientific?

“My role involves overseeing our finances, managing the company accounts on a monthly basis and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team. As the company has grown, so has the finance team, and I now work closely with Stacey, our Accounts Assistant, which has allowed us to continue developing and strengthening the team.

A big part of my role is also being involved in the wider company culture and helping to make positive changes across the business. There’s always something new going on, and I enjoy the variety that comes with the role. Whether it’s managing the day-to-day finances or getting stuck into a new project, I enjoy having a challenge and finding ways to make things work better.”

What’s something you’re most proud of since working here?

“I’m particularly proud of the changes we’ve introduced around company culture. It’s been great to see the positive changes within the business and to be part of helping shape the way we work together.

I’m looking forward to seeing how we can continue to build on those changes and make Atom an even better place to work.”

What made you want to join the Atom team?

“I was looking for a new opportunity. Since joining, I’ve really enjoyed being part of the team and the opportunities that come with working at Atom.

There’s a real sense of collaboration, and I really like the way people support each other.

I also enjoy a challenge, so the opportunity to get involved in new projects and take on something different was a big part of what appealed to me. I enjoy being able to get stuck into new things, solve problems and contribute wherever I can.”
