Meet Hamish, Merchandising Lead at Atom Scientific. Hamish joined the team in August 2022, bringing a strong foundation in visual presentation, digital media, and customer-focused team environment.

Meet Hamish

Hamish completed a BA in Photography at Farnham UCA before gaining hands-on experience managing his own photography business, including selling products through eCommerce platforms such as eBay.

Alongside this, Hamish spent 13 years managing a pub and cocktail bar, developing leadership, team management, and customer engagement skills. This combination supports his contribution to delivering strong customer experiences at Atom Scientific.

Merchandising Lead

Hamish joined Atom Scientific as an eCommerce Platform Administrator and developed the role through hands-on experience and self-training. The position has grown significantly, and he now works as Merchandising Lead.

In this role, Hamish is the direct line for Daniel, Atom Scientific’s Digital Merchandiser, and is responsible for helping maintain clear and effective workflows within the team.

He manages product ranges across multiple sales platforms, oversees pricing structures, and supports Google integrations. Hamish also works closely with suppliers, building new connections and managing existing relationships.

Supporting Online Growth

Since joining Atom Scientific, Hamish is proud to have been part of the continued growth of the brand across online platforms. While this has been a team effort, he has contributed directly through his work in merchandising.

He is also proud of developing and implementing Atom Scientific’s price lists. This was a new area for him, and he took ownership of learning the process and turning it into something the whole team could use.

Joining the Atom Team

Hamish joined Atom Scientific after deciding to move on from hospitality and explore the opportunity to grow with a company in a completely new role. The move gave him the chance to enter a new industry and apply long-standing interests in science and technology.

Outside of work, Hamish has been featured in National Geographic twice for his photography work.
