Wet-strengthened filter papers are manufactured from a majority of alpha-cellulose. The smooth surface allows for fibre-free filtration. They feature a high wet strength and can also be used in the filtration of strong alkaline or acid solutions. Due to their high mechanical strength, they are suited to applications where the residue is removed from the filter, for example with a spatula or a jet of water.

Grade 322: is a medium-filtering wet-strengthened paper with reliable retention and mechanical durability. Commonly used in student laboratories, it also performs well in general-purpose applications requiring robust handling. Its strength makes it particularly suitable for use in Buchner funnels and for filtering precipitates such as barium carbonate, lead chromate, and beryllium hydroxide.

Application: Economical filter paper used in schools and as bench protective paper

Key Features

Wet Strength: Reinforced for use with spatulas, water jets, or filtration involving acids and alkalis.

Medium Filtration Speed: Balanced flow rate with consistent particle retention, suitable for routine use.

Durable and Versatile: Performs well in both educational and industrial lab environments.

Buchner Funnel Compatibility: Strong enough for vacuum-assisted filtration without tearing.

Precipitate Filtration: Used for a range of common precipitates, especially where residue recovery is required.

  • Educational labs and training environments
  • Filtration of chemical precipitates in industrial settings
  • Acidic or alkaline sample filtration
  • Use with Buchner funnels for vacuum filtration
  • Applications requiring post-filtration residue recovery
