Ashless Quantitative Filter Papers are high-purity filters made from 100% cotton linters and acid-washed to remove impurities. With an ash content of just 0.007%, they are ideal for gravimetric analysis and sample preparation where minimal residue is critical. These papers offer excellent wet strength, making them suitable for use with Buchner funnels in quantitative applications. Available in a wide range of pore sizes and formats, they meet international standards for analytical filtration.

Grade 352: is a versatile, medium-filtering ashless paper and one of the most widely used grades in quantitative analysis. It combines reliable particle retention with a consistent flow rate, making it suitable for a broad range of applications in industries such as construction, mining, and environmental testing. Grade 352 is used for filtering sludges, determining oils in water, analysing sediments in milk, and separating solids in soil extracts. Its purity makes it suitable for trace metal filtration, including silver chromate and lead sulfate, as well as cleanup prior to techniques like atomic absorption spectrometry. It is also employed in environmental sampling for capturing radionuclides and trace atmospheric elements.

Application: Gravimetric Analysis, Soil and Sludge Testing, Trace Metal Filtration, Instrumental Sample Prep

Key Features

Medium Filtration Speed: Balances flow rate and retention for general-purpose quantitative filtration.

Broad Analytical Utility: Suitable for trace metal detection, industrial analysis, and environmental testing.

Low Ash Content: Maximum 0.007%, ideal for weighing residues after combustion.

High Purity: Designed to minimise background contamination for sensitive procedures.

Sample Preparation: Ideal for pre-treatment before AAS or other instrumental techniques.

  • Gravimetric analysis of cement, iron, clay, bismuth, copper, and silicon
  • Filtering sludges and separating solids from soil extracts
  • Determination of oils in water and sediments in milk
  • Trace element filtration (e.g. silver chromate, zinc, lead sulfate)
  • Cleanup prior to atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS)
  • Environmental sampling of airborne particulates and radionuclides
