The gold coating renders the membranes conductive, preventing sample charging during SEM analysis and supporting clear, high-contrast imaging.

Each membrane is coated with 40 nm of gold on one side and 20 nm on the reverse, enhancing filter stability and visibility under electron microscopy. These filters are compliant with SEM standards set by ISO 14966 and VDI 3492, and serve as reliable replacements for the now-discontinued Nuclepore gold-coated membranes.
