What is Mono Sodium Phosphate? Also known as sodium dihydrogen phosphate or monobasic sodium phosphate, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula NaH₂PO₄. It is a salt of sodium and phosphoric acid and exists in anhydrous form, as well as mono- and dihydrates. MSP is a versatile chemical used in various applications, including food and beverage production, water treatment, and as a fertiliser.

Frequent Uses

Food and Drink Additive
Used as an acid regulator, sequestrant, and nutrient supplement. It can be found in baked goods, processed meats, and beverages.

Water Treatment
Used to prevent plumbosolvency (lead leaching into water) by forming a protective coating on lead pipes.

Cattle
Added to animal feed as a source of phosphorus.
