Pertex® is the original rapid drying medium for mounting and preserving of slide specimens.
Pertex® is proven not to affect the form, structure or colour of the mounted specimen, even after years of storage.
It is a xylene based, rapid drying medium, which allows for immediate screening of slides. A thin coating of Pertex® is all that is needed for the cover glass to adhere to a microscope slide.
Pertex® has a low viscosity that will enable it to flow easily and prevent the formation of air bubbles. It is neutral and colourless and has a refractive index close to that of glass at +20ºC.
Pertex® is soluble in xylene and most xylene substitutes, mounting from 99,9% ethanol is also possible.
