Well Done Steven!

Image of Steven Celebrating the completion of the Level 3 Apprenticeship.

We are shining a spotlight on Steven as he has successfully completed his Level 3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship with a Distinction!

Over the past year, Steven has taken the lead on numerous projects, providing invaluable support to our marketing team. Steven has now accepted a full-time role as our Digital Marketing Co-ordinator.

We caught up with Steven to hear his thoughts on the apprenticeship.

Why did you choose an apprenticeship?

I chose an apprenticeship because I had developed a lot of initial skills in my own time and prior social media roles. I work heavily with Adobe in my spare time and work on a lot of technical projects and realised I could apply it to a professional job, so I took an apprenticeship to break into a career where these skills are used heavily.

What skills did you develop?

I developed a lot of soft skills such as communication and organisation, but the technical skills I learned such as using Adobe Creative suite for company price lists, and brochures were invaluable to me and that was because of the support of my manager (Amy). Search Engine Optimisation is the skill I got the most into during my role as I realised it’s potential in previous roles. The skills I learned during my apprenticeship contributed heavily to how I function in my role, especially the coaching sessions which taught me a lot of techniques in marketing, and generally how to perform fundamentals in my job.

Is there any key moments you are proud of?

I was incredibly proud of the teamwork synergy I had with Amy and Hamish when putting together the Lab Innovations 2024 video, it felt like a real team effort, and when it was finished it was incredibly satisfying. Having done a lot of video editing in my spare time, applying it in a professional environment and seeing everything come together was incredible.

What excites you about your new role?

I’m excited to get more involved in a lot more technical projects but to also take on a lot more responsibility with our traditional marketing and marketing material in general. Every time I’ve taken on a new responsibility, it’s positively developed me.

Words of encouragement for anyone considering a similar apprenticeship

If you have a general interest in Social Media, Marketing, or SEO, go for it. The opportunities that are given during an apprenticeship are invaluable to starting a career or breaking into a new field.

Congratulations to Steven - We're looking forward to have him join us in a full-time role.
