Atom Scientific's range of pH buffer solutions have two main applications:
They are reference materials used to calibrate pH meters, these are often coloured to aid identification: low pH (acidic) tends to be red/pink, pH 7 tends to be yellow and high pH (alkaline) tends to be blue. These need to have a very stable and accurately reported pH value.
Many biochemical reactions require a narrow pH range in which to occur. For instance, many enzymes are easily denatured if the pH gets too high or low and so buffers are used in the laboratory to allow the study of these reactions.
Atom only sources high-quality raw materials from known and approved suppliers.
All manufacturing is carried out under strict and manufacturing protocols using high purity 18MΩ-cm resistivity water. This ensures minimum levels of non-analytes.
Prior to release for sale, each batch is tested in our in-house Chemistry QC Laboratory and a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis is created.
A sample of each batch is retained under appropriate storage conditions for the shelf life of the product.
