Biostain Ready Reagents was established in 2008 by Peter Keenan to offer a range of specialist UK manufactured Life Science Reagents targeted at the Medical and Veterinary Laboratory Laboratories.
During 2008 and 2009 the company focused on developing its International Life Science Dealer network and its Veterinary Diagnostic Customers, whilst developing its production and distribution infrastructure.
Originating in a 700 sq ft start up unit with 1 member of staff in May 2008 the company grew extremely rapidly to a 8,000 sq ft facility and 10 staff by November 2009.
At Medica 2010, Biostain launched a new partnership with Molekula Fine Chemicals, which was formed by Kevin Banks, formerly the head of Sigma Aldrich Europe.
The joint venture, operating from a single site in Manchester offers a range of 9,000 products across both company's product ranges, marketed under the Atom Scientific brand name, offering a uncomparable range of products not currently available from a single manufacturer anywhere in the world.
Following the opening of our new ultra clean Chemical and Distribution facility in January 2011, the company now has 20 staff and a 35,000 sq ft UK facility.
From its first distributor order in May 2008 the company now ships 25,000 consignments worldwide per annum, from a single bottle to 20 pallets.
Whilst relatively unknown in the United Kingdom, the company is owned and managed by highly experienced industry experts with a wealth of experience in the Diagnostic Reagent Industry and as a result is currently the Market Leader for diagnostuic reagents in a growing number of countries throughout the world, for example Turkey and Greece.
